WHY MALAGA ?

The city of Malaga, bathed by the waters of the Mediterranean, lies in the south of Spain. Its long history dates back to the times of the earliest sailors and merchants who came to these shores from the Eastern Mediterranean some three thousand years ago. Ever since, Malaga has been an open, hospitable city with a clear vocation for commerce and travel.

Malaga is the capital of the Costa del Sol and the fifth most- populous city in Spain. One of the mainstays of economic development in Malaga is the Andalusian Technology Park, which specialises in innovative processes in the fields of business and industry, as well as enjoying close links with Malaga University.

Malaga also boasts a wealth of areas of great natural beauty, notably its coast, parks and gardens, not to mention a vast cultural heritage accumulated over 3,000 years of history that makes this provincial capital a unique location. Málaga is also the ideal city in which to host all manner of major events thanks to its excellent facilities.

It is the birthplace of Picasso and has a strong cultural history including stunning architecture and first class museums.

WHO

Alexei Issacovitch, founder and chairman of Festival Danza Malaga in Spain since 2000, with a group of consultants specialising in dance and professionnal dancers. Today he heads the festival with more than 100 artists which has become one of the independent leaders in Spain in programming residencies and emergent artists.

He is also the founder of ZappingDanse, a leading provider of services and news, which he created in 1995.

The two platforms, generate more than 1 hundred visitors per month.

Issacovitch started his career as a Dancer at Roland Petit’s National Ballet, one of the worlds most highly regarded French choregrapher, where he toured all the world. Now, he is proud to collaborate for the University of Malaga, promoting different activities of the Dance World from 2000 :
